No decision taken in any direction would be accepted in a complete unanimity. AKS commissioner defended Gov. Udom Emmanuel.

In attempt to calm the nerves in the reaction and counter reaction that spread within the length and breathe of AKS citizens, the Akwa Ibom state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barrister Ini Emembong Essien drastically defended governor Udom Emmanuel on his prefered candidate for 2023 gubernatorial election. He also assured the citizens that the completion agenda is on course.

He however stated that anyone who by virtue of revelation or prophecy have received insight as to whom God has anointed to succeed the incumbent governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, whose tenure will expire on May next year, should come forward and state otherwise, that for him he believes in Gov. Udom Emmanuel,

The commissioner categorically made the sincere call on Monday, while fielding questions from Journalists at a Press briefing in Uyo. He explained that majority of people were complaining why Udom did not give direction by naming his successor and now that he has by the special grace of God given direction the same people turn again against such unique divine direction.

The nice young orator with specialty on information and strategy described as unnecessary, the dust raised by the unveiling of Pastor Umo Eno, who is the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources by the governor, as his prefered aspirant.

In very many occasions the governor had sincerely and repeatedly told the people of the state that he was waiting on God to reveal to him who will succeed him in office and that is why; ” I as a commissioner believe and trust in my Boss His Excellency Gov. Udom Emmanuel who had also said that he will not have a hand in the choice of his successor, insisting that his successor will be purely the choice of God for the state”.

The commissioner lamented in essence why the same people who were pressuring the governor to produce his prefered successor now query the authenticity of the governor’s revelation after presenting to them whom God has revealed as the next governor of the state.

Now the question is how can we distinguish democracy and theocracy? In democracy peoples make the choice of their leader why in theocracy God chose the leader, hence, the reason why people were worried that governor Udom should show the way. He advised that the critics should not blame the medium but rather the source of revelation which is God.

He recounted with assurance that it is better not to distract the governor from executing his Completion Agenda to the state, rather anyone with any doubt about the governor’s revelatory choice should present his or her aspirant if God has also revealed to them who will succeed Gov Udom Emmanuel in 2023.

He frowned at why people are attacking the governor whom he said that the governor is sincere in telling the truth, that he is a mere channel therefore, people should stop attacking him, but should rather question God why he(God) has chosen Umo Eno over other aspirants.

The commissioner observed with kin interest the good thing about the up coming party primary, that it will be open to all aspirants to prove their popularity. Describing the governor as a young true 21st century democrat, he rhetorically queried with clear example that if the governor Udom Emmanuel could allow other contestants within his party to stand in for primary when he was seeking re-election in 2019, how much more now that the governor is rounding up his tenure.

He disclosed that the PDP constitution has made provision for over 75% statutory delegates who are well known to all the aspirants, saying that, the aspirants can always lobby the delegates for their votes, and if he wins, such a lucky candidate would be allowed to fly the party’s flag.

The commissioner vertically assured that completion agenda is on course that at appropriate time facts and figures will be published.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Amos Etuk gave a meaningful response, expressing in strong terms, having confidence in the leadership of state Information helm’s man, also commended the state governor for his doggedness towards actualizing his completion agenda to the state and its people.
The chairman recalled that the governor said he will not have a hand in the choice of his successor, insisting that his successor will be purely the choice of God for the state and that now that God has revealed through him that there’s greater need for him (Gov. Udom Emmanuel)to address the media community.
However, he restated the Union’s commitment to continue partnering with the state government in her quest to deliver on its mandates to the people of our dear state.

Those present at the press briefing as the commissioner of information and strategy Ini Ememobong defended Gov. Udom Emmanuel were James Edet the director of information, Joseph Edem, Miss Akpan and host of others.
