A’Ibom First Lady Charges Women to Renew their Faith in God

Akwa Ibom’s First Lady, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, has called on women to renew their faith and put their complete trust in God.

Pastor Eno delivered the charge during the monthly prayer meeting for women held at the State Government’s Banquet Hall in Uyo on Thursday, June 29.

The inaugural prayer meeting, themed “The Sound of the New,” saw women from various clusters and associations gather to worship and pray for the success of the new administration.

Dressed in priestly attire, Pastor Eno delivered a powerful message, urging the women to faithfully follow God’s guidance and allow Him to lead them, as He has proven time and again to be an effective leader.

The Akwa Ibom First Lady encouraged the women to have unwavering faith in God, assuring them that He would swiftly answer their prayers and never disappoint them.

Expressing optimism, the Governor’s wife stated that the monthly prayer meetings would not only bring blessings to the attending women but also contribute to the peace and development of the state.

Also, Pastor Eno expressed her gratitude to God for the opportunity to lead the women of the state and also acknowledged the instrumental role played by the immediate past Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, and his wife, Dr. Martha Udom, in her husband’s rise to power.

Earlier, the First Lady inaugurated an eleven-member team responsible for organizing the monthly prayer project. They are, Bishop Enobong Essien, Pastor Ime Owo, Rev. Utibeno A. John-Udoh, and Pastor Idongesit Essienobong.

Other team members include, Rev. Sis. Imaobong Ating, Evang. Mfon Israel, Pastor Becky Udoh, Evang. Eno Charles, Rev. Grace Idem, Pastor Ekaette Kufre, and Pastor Affiong Ebong.

During the homily, Rev. Utibeno John-Udoh encouraged the women to embrace the new era while not disregarding the past, as God brings about new beginnings with a distinct sound.

Referring to Genesis 1, she explained that the divine sound would restore total peace and silence the drums of violence in the state.

The prayer service included soul-stirring songs, uplifting Bible readings, various prayer sessions, and a special thanksgiving segment.

Prominent attendees at the prayer meeting include, Deputy Governor of the State, Sen. Akon Eyakenyi, wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Inemesit Uwah, wife of the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mrs. Edidiong Kufreabasi Edidem, and former Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet.

Others include, female councillors, supervisors, wives of local government Chairmen, wives of Paramount Rulers, head of groups, female Chairmen, among others.
