The Uruan Chapter of Connect Initiative, a socio-political organization has partnered with some individuals and corporate bodies to organize a free eye screening outreach and sensitization program.

The Initiative partnered with MR. NKEREUWEM AKPAN (Connector 1 Ikono LGA), MOVE MEDIA, M-CLEAR VISION CLINIC & HOUSE OF BORAH to offer a free eyesight screening to indigenes of Uruan Local Government Area, as part of its commitment to providing young and elderly people in the state with high-quality healthcare.

The two days event which unfolded at the Women Development Centre of the Uruan Local Government Council brought hope to hundreds of residents as beneficiaries.

The partnership project aimed at improving the quality of day-to-day life of people in the rural areas with regards to eyecare was supported by Nkweruwem Akpan ( Connector 1, Ikono LGA), Move Media, House of Borah and M-Clear vision and attended by some leading lights of the community and beyond .

In a welcome address, Hon. Richard Bassey, the Uruan LGA Connector made known that the event mean so much to the group and thanked all the partners and sponsors for backing such a commendable initiative.

He stated that the Uruan Chapter is open to more partnerships and collaboration as touching the lives of people remains the most ideal approach for delivering dividends of democracy to the electorates.

In his remarks, the Chief Sponsor, Mr. Nkereuwem Akpan, who is the Ikono Chapter Connector, applauded the medical team, partners, guests and well wishers for their support towards the hosting of the free medical outreach.

Mr. Akpan noted that he is willing to do more in the future by God’s grace and appealed to the good people of Uruan to vote for Pastor Umo Eno and other PDP candidates come 2023.

Addressing the gathering, the International President, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, who was ably represented by the International Secretary, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Ekpoatai; Eket Senatorial District Connector, reiterated the organization’s commitment towards partnering with the State Government, NGOs and other agencies in ensuring that the world becomes a better place for everyone.

Hon. Ekpoatai noted that Connect Initiative is a socio-political organization with the philosophy of advancing sustainability which is the concept of appreciating the imprints of past and present leadership with the vision to galvanize massive support/votes for Pastor Umo Eno and the PDP .

Also speaking, Hon. (Surv.) Iniobong Ekpenyong; Executive Chairman, Uruan Local Government Area commended Connect Initiative Uruan Chapter for their choice of service and for putting humanity first.

Surv. Ekpenyong who represented Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Candidate for Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District assured the organization of Mr. Speaker’s readiness to partner at any given time in providing the needed social amenities to the good people of Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District once elected.

He advised beneficiaries to be wary of deceit and frivolities associated with other political parties in the name of campaign as PDP remains the only party interested in their welfare and development.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Mrs. Idongesit Etiebiet charged Connect Initiative Uruan Chapter to keep up the good work and appealed to beneficiaries to mobilize for PDP and Vote PDP come 2023.

In a brief remark, Dr. Mrs. Itorobong Etim, 2023 Uruan State Assembly candidate applauded Connect Initiative for their benevolence to indigenes of Uruan LGA.

She promised that when elected, she will ensure that her people enjoy quality healthcare services.

She congratulated the beneficiaries and called on them to trust PDP with their votes.

Also speaking, Mrs. Ifiokobong Akan; Creative Director, House of Borah conveyed her gratitude to God for making the event a success.

She appreciated the sponsor and other partners for sparing their resources to ensure that the event becomes a reality and noted that it’s the love for humanity that inspired the birthing of the project.
Mrs. Akan made known that connect initiative draws so much inspiration from the personality of Pastor Umo Eno having reviewed the gubernatorial candidate’s economic blueprint which focuses on connecting the dots and furthering peace and development. The Fashion entrepreneur charged beneficiaries in Uruan LGA to vote massively for Pastor Umo Eno, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey and Dr. Itoro Etim as they remain a reliable team to trust.

Also Speaking, Deaconess Mrs. Godwin Ntukude urged the people of Uruan to avoid selling their votes and mortgaging their future for any temporary benefits.

She encouraged them to vote PDP come 2023 for a fruitful Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.

The PDP Chapter Chairman of Uruan LGA, Hon. Sebastian Nkanga; gave insights on voters education.

And urged all sons and daughter of Uruan collect their PVCs to enable them vote right come 2023.

He stated that the season is highly political and that is it important to speak about PDP in every gathering.
He affirmed his support for Connect Initiative Uruan Chapters and said he will work with them to deliver Uruan 6/6.

It was an emotional moment as beneficiaries couldn’t hide their joy.

The hundreds of beneficiaries expressed sincere appreciation to the leadership of connect initiative Uruan Chapter for finding them worthy of their benevolence.

They assured connect initiative of their loyalty to PDP as they will massively mobilize and vote for Pastor Umo Eno and all PDP candidates come 2023.
