2023 Guber: We will Stand By You, Itu Stakeholders Tell Pastor Umo Eno

… Offer Aspirant Certificate of Origin

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have promised to give Pastor Umo Eno all the support needed to emerge as governor in 2023.

The stakeholders gave the assurance during a consultation visit which took place at the country home of Hon. (Dr) Henry Archibong, the House of Representatives member for Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency.

In a motion moved and seconded by the members representing Itu State Constituency, Hon Kufre Edidem and Hon. (Dr) Ekaete Ebong Okon respectively, they adopted Pastor Umo Eno as their candidate for the 2023 governorship election.

In his remarks, the host, Hon. Archibong said it was a privilege to play host to the political gladiators in the state and assured the team of their unflinching support.

The law maker who noted that Pastor Eno is reputed for his unparalleled humility, said he was amazed when some friends in Dubai testified to his humility and spoke glowingly of his capacity to further development in Akwa Ibom State.

While recalling the stories of Esau and Jacob, Joseph and brothers, David and brothers, and even Solomon and Adonijah, he maintained that there was always preference in leadership adding that Itu stakeholders have chosen to stand by the preferred aspirant of Akwa Ibom people.

Also speaking, the member representing Itu State Constituency, Hon Kufre Edidem thanked God for His favour upon the life of Pastor Eno whom he described as a man of rare integrity and capacity.

He disclosed that the people of Itu had prayed to have the next governor come from them, but reasoned that God’s ways are not human’s and that God gives power to whosoever He chooses.

Hon. Edidem reassured everyone that Itu will stand by Pastor Eno, even as he has become their son and appealed to him to remember Itu when he emerges as governor in 2023.

On his part, the Council Chairman, Hon Etetim Onuk thanked God for Pastor Eno whom he described as a rare gift to the state, adding that as loyal members of the party, the people of Itu have no option than to adopt and support Pastor Umo Eno.

The council boss who said since God has chosen to favour pastor Eno as governor come 2023, the stakeholders of Itu have decided to offer him a certificate of origin to make him their bonafide son, and to enjoy full benefit as a son of the soil.

In the same vein, Obongawan Grace Ekong, a former Secretary to the State Government, said Akwa Ibom is a PDP state and stands for PDP, adding that when the leadership takes a position, every member must queue behind the pronouncement.

She emphasized that Itu LGA is a PDP area and must queue behind the aspiration of Pastor Eno whom according to her, the leadership of the party has presented as the most capable aspirant.

Presenting himself to the stakeholders, Pastor Eno who is a seasoned entrepreneur, commended the people of Itu for the rousing reception and the support for his aspiration and especially the cash donations to aid his consultations.

He said the donation was a pointer to the level of the people’s commitment to the project, and promised not to betray their trust,  loyalty, and support.

While acknowledging that he was aware of their sons who were also in the race, he recalled that there was a time a son of Nsit Ubium aspired against the preferred aspirant of the party’s leadership, saying that they,  (Nsit Ubium people) decided to support the preferred choice of the party’s leadership as a mark of loyalty.

He appealed to the stakeholders to support his aspiration, assuring them that Itu would be at the centre of affairs in the next administration.

According to him, “I would do for Itu more than anyone else would have done. Because I know the perculliarity of Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency. I would not disappoint you.”

Earlier in his introductory remarks, the Director General of Campaigns, Amb Assam Assam, SAN said Pastor Eno is a reputed entrepreneur with vast knowledge in wealth creation, saying that the aspirant is better positioned to further the industrialization drive of the Governor Emmanuel- led administration.

Amb. Assam who is a son in-law in Itu, said he was confident that Pastor Eno would not disappoint his in-laws and urged them to support him massively.

On his part, the National Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem thanked Itu stakeholders for their love for the party and urged them to continually remain faithful and loyal to the party.

He noted that when zoning was instituted in the state, it was on the bases of Senatorial District and not federal constituencies or local government areas.

The Political Leader of Uyo Senatorial District, Sen Effiong Bob also described Pastor Eno as a humble man that loves the state, and has the fear of God, and appealed for their support to enable him actualise his lofty plans for the people of Akwa Ibom
